The first of the Ash-Tree Press series of Occasional Booklets looks at the major contribution which anthologiser Hugh Lamb has made to the genre of the supernatural story. Beginning with his anthology The Tide of Terror in 1972, Hugh rescued from obscurity many authors who are now acknowledged as masters of the genre. This card-covered booklet contains five of the rare stories he rescued in the early 1970s, and also includes a lengthy introduction by Mike Ashley in which he looks at, and assesses, Hugh’s anthologies. There is also a complete listing of Hugh’s books.
